Narasin inclusion for feedlot lambs fed a diet containing high amounts of ground flint corn

چکیده

Narasin is an antibacterial agent that may change rumen fermentation. Two experiments were proposed to evaluate the efficiency of narasin inclusion for lambs fed a diet containing high amounts ground flint corn. Thirty rumen-cannulated wethers used nutrient digestibility, nitrogen balance, and metabolism (Exp. 1); forty-five performance 2) animals with corn diets. The experimental diets were: control or basal without additives (C); 25 mg monensin kg?1 dry matter (DM) (M); 5 (N5), 10 (N10), 15 (N15) DM. statistical analyses performed using MIXED procedure SAS. Monensin increased DM digestibility compared C ( p = 0.01) increasing doses linearly < 0.01). There was quadratic effect 0.10) molar proportion acetate peaking at N15. 0.07) propionate C; however, it did not differ from narasin. levels decreased total volatile fatty acids concentration in 0.02). showed similar performance. ? 0.04) average daily gain feed efficiency. changed fermentation improved overall digestibility. However, received when M.

A study of rumen microbial community of Baluchi lambs fed a high concentrate diet containing conventional ingredients

Baluchi sheep is the dominant fat-tail breed in Iran. We studied the microbial communities in the rumen of four Baluchi lambs fed a high concentrate conventional diet. Using DNA extracted from the rumen samples, we found the partial ribosomal rRNA of bacterial and archaeal were amplified by polymerase chain reaction (PCR). The amplicons were sequenced using 454 Titanium pyrosequencing and the d...

Economic Feasibility of Producing Feedlot Lambs Fed on Sunflower Cake

This study aimed to analyze the economic feasibility of replacing soybean meal by sunflower cake in the diet of lambs. Twenty-eight non-castrated crossbred Suffolk lambs aged four months, with 21 kg average body weight ± 9 kg were used. These animals were distributed by weight category into 3 treatments (10, 20 and 30% dry matter (DM) addition of sunflower cake in replacing soybean meal) and co...

Phosphorus Excretion of Feedlot Cattle Fed Diets Containing Corn or Distillers Coproducts

Samples were analyzed from three metabolism trials to evaluate the effects of dietary phosphorus (P) intake on P excretion in beef steers fed corn-based finishing diets. In Experiment I, ten steers were fed ten diets that involved two processing methods, whole and dry rolled corn and five corn sources, commodity, white, high oil, high protein, and highoil-high-protein corn. In Experiment II, si...

Carcass characteristics of feedlot lambs fed crude glycerin contaminated with high concentrations of crude fat.

Thirty non-castrated male lambs with 20±2.3 kg average body weight (BW) were randomly assigned to five treatments consisted of different dietary concentrations of crude glycerin (CG; 0, 3, 6, 9 and 12% on DM basis) to evaluate the effects on performance, carcass and meat quality traits. A quadratic effect was observed for performance (P=0.04), final BW (P<0.01) and hot carcass weight (P<0.01). ...
